Yes, the MCU version of MODOK was kind of disappointing. He just got played for laughs, which was probably inevitable, but I do wish they had made him more weird and menacing.
I guess you could call her a Mary Sue? She kind of goes against the grain of that type of character, which is usually known as being the best at everything, impressing all of the established heroes with their greatness. Gwenpool almost seems like she thinks she'll be a Mary Sue but struggles to succeed at it, with her efforts constantly being stymied because the writer recognizes that she's actually a very minor player in the larger Marvel Universe.
It's easy to like Gwenpool. This would be a better use of MODOK in the MCU than what we saw in Antman
